Curriculum

Preschool curriculum, In the Beginning…Growing into a Life of Faith, teaches the key scriptural truths and lays the spiritual foundation a young person needs to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Each week, the lessons use concepts, stories, vocabulary, and music that were carefully chosen to be concrete and easy for 3-5 year olds to comprehend.

The curriculum starts by teaching the students the basics of what the Bible is and what it tells us and then continues to explore it by studying miracles, kids, heroes, and friends in the Bible.

Kindergarten – 4th grade uses 252 BASICS which is built around three basic truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52 “…and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.”

1.  I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Each month focuses on one virtue which amplifies the basic truths.  Examples of virtues studied in this curriculum include honor, patience, self-respect, humility, initiative, uniqueness, orderliness, courage, kindness, peace, respect, and joy.

5th – 7th grade curriculum is called GRAPPLE because it helps your preteens work through the issues that they are grappling with.  With Grapple, you get the most age-relevant tool available for helping preteens understand and own their faith by tackling the tough questions they are asking about faith, relationships, and choices they make.

Your preteens love technology and choices—and Grapple delivers both. We use thought-provoking lessons, videos, fun games, life-changing Bible lessons, plus a safe and secure website (MyGrapple.com) that the students have access to all week.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I check my child in and when must they be picked up by?

All children may be checked in starting at 10:00AM for a time of creative free play and building relationships with other students and their small group leader. All classrooms are staffed from 10-11:45. At 11:45 clean-up and tear down begins so we ask that children be picked before 11:45. please pick up your children first and then continue visiting with people in the lobby

How do I pick up my child?

After the gathering and connection service is over, go to your child’s classroom to sign them out on the same form you signed them in on.

Can a friend or sibling pick up my child?

For security purposes, the adult that signed the child in must be the one to sign them out. also for security purposes, we ask that only authorized people be in the halls and classrooms.

What can be brought into the kidport classes?

We ask that favorite toys be left at home. they become a distraction for the other children and sharing becomes an issue. If things are left at KidPort we cannot guarantee that it will still be there the following sunday. No food or drink may be brought into the classrooms.

Does KidPort collect an offering?

Yes, we do! In the classrooms students will find a bank to deposit the money into. The money goes towards sponsoring a school age boy from Zambia for $25 a month.

How old do you have to be to serve in KidPort?

Teens 8th grade and up may serve as an extra set of hands in the preschool class and nursery. They are not allowed to change diapers or take children to the bathroom. High school students and adults may serve in any of our classrooms. They must complete an application and have had a background check run on them. Flight crew handbooks, containing policies and procedures, are given to each team member.

Why are you called “KidPort?”
